Well this hasn't changed in many years and is what we have been suggesting for a long time. 

At least this one is a more recent article for reference than the older ones.

No need to touch Defender as Avast automatically disables it, and you cant remove Defender as it's part of the operating system.

Apart from increased usage of system resources, multiple antivirus products poses threat to safety of operating system.

Just a bit of correction, Defender auto deactivates any time a third party AV is added.
