Major issue. Just lost files and programs.
« on: September 18, 2018, 03:30:15 PM »
Just tried installing Avast Free and it's going fine, then asks me to restart. I restart my pc and I immediately get a message telling me my recycling bin on E (my non OS drive) is corrupted.

Avast also doesn't seem to load at all. It says "UI Failed to Load". I click restart, nothing happens. I then restart to safe mode and manage to uninstall Avast. Get back to my regular desktop and many of my files are gone (my whole JavaScript folder, where I had projects and everything.) in addition to many programs not being able to located. Steam can't start up, says "Steam install folder is currently not writable which can casue issues with some Steam features and running games. Steam needs to repair this problem then restart". I click Repair and it just keeps repeating that over and over. Ableton also can't be located in addition to many of my games.

Did an SFC scan and it's all fine. I really don't want to have to install Windows and I'm very upset because I lost all my programming work. If anyone knows a solution I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
