constantly freezes up

 i got this two weeks ago when i got hi-speed and since then it won't work right. it loads slow from startup, then when i'm on explorer, it freezes up and won't let a page load. i've been constanly rebooting for 2 weeks. please help or avast will have to go.

Which is your operational system?
Any other antivirus or security program installed in this computer?
Which is your Standard Shield sensitivity level? High or Normal?
Do you have that much programs automatically starting at logon time?

i have windows me. the only things starting are outpost firewall and avast. i don't know how to access standard shield to see what the sensitivity settings are.

Left click the 'a' blue icon.
Click on the buttom 'Details'.
Find Standard Shield icon at left and click it...

sorry reply took so long. standard shield is on normal (default). it's still knockin' me around. after awhile ya can't load a page so ya reboot, it sux but at this point it's the only way.

Does it help if you stop the Web Shield provider temporarily?
