Windows 7 Professional (32bit), Avast Free Antivirus, the latest version.

This just starting happening today. After booting up I get the alert:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Suspicious file detected"
"explorer.exe may be harmful to your computer"
"What would you like to do?"
"[DELETE]  [MORE OPTIONS]... [Ignore], [Create Exception]"
...
File Path      C:\Windows\System32\explorer.exe
Detected by   Anti-Rootkit Shield
Status      Detected
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(screenshot attached)

"Ignore" gets the same thing on next boot.
"DELETE" says it can't do it...

Looks like this file is not used since Task Manager shows C:\Windows\explorer.exe.

Could not find any reliable info on deleting C:\Windows\System32\explorer.exe. It's also an older version.

Would appreciate any information you have on this.

Thanks
