Avast Internet Security hanging during Full Scan

Whenever I try to do a fulls can using Avast Internet Security, the scan stops at 28% and just hangs there perpetually.  I've tried reinstalling, tried repairing the program, tried updating it, nothing works.Can someone please advise on whether Avast are aware of this and are issuing a fix? I know this is a very common problem with Avast and would appreciate some indication that an update is coming to resolve the issue, as I'd like to be able to use the product I am paying for.

Hi, how long did you wait..? A full scan can take a while...
