stop re-activation nag screens
« on: October 12, 2018, 11:21:26 AM »
I've had subscription to the VPN addons for a while, and decided to cancel it.
However, for some unknown reason, avast keep nagging me about re-activating it with some sales offer, etc.
This really nags me, and I don't wish to see this re-activation messages anymore.
How can I cancel those pop-ups from showing ?

If you've the standalone version of SecureLine, uninstall it.
-> Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Avast SecureLine

i'ts not standalone, I only have "avast internet security" on my installed app list.
I'm referring to this nag screens:

and as mentioned, VPN component is already uninstalled:

This really bothers me  >:(
I've paid for service, period is over, I don't wish to use the VPN component any more.
This is still paid license of the internet security suite,
I don't see any reason i'm forced to see nag screens in the name of trying to convince me to re-activate...
I can understand one-two times, but when this appears daily - it's BAD / POOR PR choice.

Please help.

As an avast user of a paid program version, have you not disabled the 'don't show promotions for other avast products' or words to that effect ?

I believe that setting is in the avastUI > Settings > Privacy section.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.4.6112 (build 24.4.9067.762) UI 1.0.803/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Thanks, avast keep changing the bloody settings (and I'm using the free version) so it is hard to keep track of where things are :)
