« on: November 01, 2018, 06:22:54 AM »
but might restore avast secure browser 69.0.829.82
It started with the internet stopping got this message windows...8 application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way
tried fixing it not doing too well... system restore will result in this problem
could you tell me the difference between these two programs would this be ok.. to if they did indeed restore this other version?  and they may not..

I see there is a new version... not sure why restore wants use a different version. I can't reach the internet so can't do anything really seeking advice while my computer lays dead to me..

Hi Sandy55,

Just to clarify about System Restore - it  reverts system files, installed applications, Windows Registry, and system settings to the state they were in at a previous point in time (a restore point).

This means that System Restore isn't choosing to use a different version of Secure Browser per se, it's just using the version that was installed at the time when the restore point was created. If you use System Restore to solve the error you are getting, you can (and should) then download the latest version Secure Browser and update it afterwards.

I did and still can't get online.
Have been searching trying all sorts of things. wifi no valid ip address no ethernet ip address... no this no that... do this do that..no matter what I fix something else will come up.... still not working I can't get online reset so many things at this point... becoming a bit familiar with command prompt... now know where it is after hours of tinkering with it.

my avast secure browser is completely dead will not open but maybe it doesn't if there is not internet did all this over and over...ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig

nothing seems to work I am the only one using avast on this internet connection I am the only one who can NOT access the net.  fixed a mistake in the original text  old I am the only one who can access the internet.. should have been NOT access he internet!
was up way late trying to fix things that is my excuse today  going to try again...
