Unwanted pause during scan
« on: July 19, 2006, 04:46:42 PM »
When I start a scan everything looks just fine, but often I'll return to the computer to find that the scan is in an unwanted PAUSE mode.  Is there any way to stop this behavior?

It's not the normal behavior... I mean, if avast does not find anything, nothing infected, the scanning shouldn't be paused...
Are you sure the computer did not hibernate? Or enter on stand-by state?
Aren't you seeing a virus message?

Nope, I haven't done anything. Probably the computer has decided to do this because it has closed down the monitor, but the programs should work. As long as there's nothing I can adjust in this program, I'll have to look elsewhere.....

Well, there are tons of things to adjust in avast... but none of them to avoid this bizarre behavior.
Have you checked into Windows Events to see if anything is relevant?
