Question about avastUI.exe 32
« on: November 06, 2018, 07:12:25 PM »
2 days I started to notice avastUI.exe  taking 1-2% cpu(1 mostly) constantly while on chrome and playing games (would not stop taking the 1% cpu usage unless I stopped chrome, games and programms) So I reinstalled the antivirus and it stopped being a constant and went back to popping up randomly trough-out chrome usage but not games anymore(I was fine with this, seemed normal).Kinda weird right?

Fast forward today like 5 hours in using the computer.AvastUI.exe*32 start to take 1% cpu usage constantly while using chrome and games.(A restart fixed it)

Is this a bug or normal behaviour?Seem like avastUI.exe *32 can get stuck doing something when it's not supposed too.

Bdw I have only 4 core shields and Silent mode with updates set to manual. Was wondering if it's a bug or something.

OS is windows 7.

Are you still here by any chance? The process keeps popping up more frequently now for no reason when I play games and watching streams mostly and it can get stuck at 1% sometimes with anything open and I believe it's effecting the performance of my games.I'm sure this wasn't a thing before

 Which Avast..? (Free)
- Which version..?(18.8.2356.)
- OS..? (w7 64 bit home - which SP/Build..?7601)
- Other security related software installed..?(Maltwarebytes but it's alwasy turned off unless I need to run it.It has no background process)
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast..?(only avast)

I only have the 4 main shields installed and updates are on manual

Is it supposed to be constantly running at 1% while playing games?Because most of the time I don't see it do it.(maybe it pops up and goes back down again repeatedly)

I made a dump file of the process while it was at constant 1% if it helps.just ask for it.

**update it seems restarting the computer temporarily fixes it.Until it gets stuck at  constant 1% again ofc.I have no idea what triggers it.

1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

I actually did 1-4 as instructed already before.(except the malwarebytes part)Is it advised to do the malwarebytes part even if I don't have it running in the background? It's not in startup either and only run it once a week for a check up then close it and never see it pop up unless I actually click on it's exe.

It's worth a try.

You're welcome.

Hey it's me again xD.I found what was causing the 1% after it showed up again. It was a game called monster hunter world for PC.No other game does this and the process even stays at 1% after I close steam and browser unless I restart.

I don't even get how avast can even scan it since the game is located in a sub folder of the steam folder and I have my whole steam folder in file path exclusions so No scanning should be going on in the steam folder.

Update:Tried to run the game again just to make sure it is Monster hunter world and it did pop up again and got stuck at 1% again.Honestly have no idea why or how this specific game would trigger avastUI.exe 32 so much...even whitelisted it still pops up.

Guess il just resort to restarting when it pops up.
