Avast Business Firewall blocking some local traffic
« on: November 23, 2018, 06:58:40 PM »
I can't connect to a local Synology NAS for example via a web browser, but can via a UNC path in explorer for example. If I switch the firewall off, all is good. I did some searches, but the "automatic port scanning" check box option was already off.

Besides switching off the firewall, where would this issue be coming from? It is on the "friendly" URL list.

Does the business firewall have network profiles like puplic and private?

If so, have you tried to change mode ....

It does have those profiles and I could change two "unknown networks" to private, but the one which is identified with "router" I could not change to private.

Changing the other two to Private did not make any difference.

Local client, not web based admin console if that is what you mean?

Excuse the long response but it takes about 10 attempts to get through the verification on each post :(

Thanks for your help anyway.

I have 50 licenses so if I change anything at the cloud admin console level it is a bit risky that I have a lot of unhappy users ...

At least I got rid of that signature message that would come back each time as it was not disabled at cloud level so any change at the client would be overwritten.
