js:redirector-bmu

Given the reports I see on the web re: AVG (sister to AVAST) reporting presence of the js:redirector-bmu trojan on Ebay -
I made a purchase through Ebay on ebay 11/16.  I am on web daily.  Friday night I ran a full AVAST scan which showed the embedded trojan in my appdata/Firefox folder (see pic).
After cleaning I've changed a few passwords.

1) Was the anti- js:redirector-bmu AVAST block in place during this WHOLE period?
2) Should AVAST have blocked js:redirector-bmu in real-time (accessing Firefox) and not just show up in the AVAST full scan I did (after the fact, apparently)?
3) Probably not, but would running an AVAST 'Smart Scan' have flagged the js:redirector-bmu?  Would the 'Smart Scan' flag it if somehow js:redirector-bmu returned?
4) What specifically does js:redirector-bmu do?
5) How comfortable should I feel now? Should AVAST trigger a block for js:redirector-bmu  if it tries to install on my pc in real-time?; When I use Firefox now in real-time?

Here is the AVAST config currently (don't know specifics for 11/16-11/17):
Avast free 18.8.2356 (build 18.8.4084.0)
Virus definition: 181120-8

as the name say, it redirect you to other websites ......

So is AVAST now configured to give a real-time error if js:redirector-bmu is recognized, and not just during an on-demand scan?
