We are currently experiencing problems with Winrar archives of our clients when the Avast Ransomware Shield is activated
Our clients have Avast "Premium" edition
Problems found in the folder "My Documents" and all folders managed by the Ransomware Shield
- When adding or deleting files in existing archives Winrar displays an error message: Unable to create <File_name> --> Access denied.
- When creating new archives the problem is not present
- Changing the setting of the Ransomware Shield:
+ adding WinRAR to the authorized application, the problem is always present
+ Disabling archive files, the problem disappears
+ Disabling the Ransomware Shield, the problem disappears
In the folders not managed by the anti-ransomware module there is no problem
Log files:
- No errors found in Windows event logs
- No errors found in the logs of "C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log"
For your information:
- We contacted the support Rarlab editor of Winrar Software.
- After several tests with them and different versions of the software, we found that the problem came from the Ransomware Shield of Avast.

Nous rencontrons actuellement des problèmes avec les archives Winrar de nos clients lorsque le module anti-ransomware d'Avast est activé
Nos clients disposent d'Avast édition "Premium".
Problèmes constaté dans le dossier "Mes documents" et tous les dossiers gérés par le module anti-ransomware
- Lors de l'ajout ou suppression de fichiers dans des archives existantes Winrar affiche un message d'erreur : Impossible de créer <nom du document> --> Accès refusé.
- Lors de la création de nouvelles archives le problème n'est pas présent
- Modification du paramétrage du module anti-ransomware :
+ ajout de winrar en application autorisé, le problème est toujours présent
+ désactivation des fichiers d'archive, le problème disparait
+ désactivation du module anti-ransomware, le problème disparait
Dans les dossiers non gérés par le module anti-ransomware il n'y a pas de problème
Fichiers de Logs :
- Aucune erreur trouvée dans les journaux d'évènement de Windows
- Aucune erreur trouvée dans les logs de "C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log"
Pour votre information :
- Nous avons contacté le support Rarlab éditeur du logiciel Winrar.
- Après plusieurs tests avec eux et différentes versions du logiciel, nous avons constaté que le problème venait du module anti-ransomware d'Avast.
