Avast the robbers
« on: November 21, 2018, 03:43:00 AM »
Just letting you all know my experence with Avast.  i have used there free products for 5 years or so, and paid for 3.  Now on the 3, I paid for 2 licenses used one.  renewed at 6 months with new PC b/c they wont let me use 2nd license.  but seemed like they were doing ok so i continued to use it.  added some extras from them as they said I "needed" them, help no help idk.

So after all this i get a letter from my ipo saying have virus and i should look into it.  so i try avast, and they see nothing, so i download ipo FREE  protection and search...finds it everytime, but says been embedded cant be quarantined.  So ipo says delete fully and reinstall...

So fyi $100's of dollars a year for protection thats less effective then the free ipo, and I dont have to go through their adds after every scan.  They have subpar programs at high prices, they only push for more money and offer less protection.

If you had a problem or needed help, all you have to do was ask. :)What ipo are you talking about?

And you draw that conclusion from one detection?
No security program have 100% detection or zero false positives

What was detected?
Have you turned on avast PUP detection? (default off)
Have you also considered that detection from that other program can be a false positive?

You can turn off ads in paid program
