Reregistering free Avast

I keep checking the registration information for the activate "Renew Now" button on the Avast interface, but I don't need to keep checking that anymore each time I log on?  It's a hassle to keep opening the interface all the time and clicking on Registration Information to check for the "Renew Now" button.  Should I get a popup asking me to reregister?  Or I can do nothing and it will just keep working after it expires?  I try very hard to understand with my brain damage.  I used to have an IQ in the 130's and ran my own lab before, but now with my Traumatic Brain Injury, I can't figure stuff out anymore too well and my memories bad; so sorry if I keep asking the same questions.  Thank you.

19 days left until it expires.  I just don't understand this problem of not being able to reregister this year.  Is Avast just letting all free Avast user registrations expire and then they won't ever renew since new free Avast users don't even need to register now?  I was reading on this forum how older versions of Avast stopped working when the registration expired.  I have the newest version, but still concerned.

Got the popup notice to renew tonight at 12 days until expiration.  Just one click and it's good for another 366 days.  Don't need your email anymore.
