« on: July 31, 2006, 08:30:42 PM »
I use avast 4.7 home version in home.

How can REDUCE  resident shield activity after boot? It is setting minimum availabe.

What can do. I love avast, nor i want cange to other antivirus program.

What other security based software do you have that might run on boot, e.g. Spybot S&D (TeaTimer), AdAware (AdWatch), SpySweeper, PrevX, WinPatrol, ProcessGuard, etc. ?

Have (or did) you have another AV installed in this system, if so what and how did you get rid of it ?

What is the sensitivity of the Standard Shield (default Normal), the higher you have it more files scanned on boot ?
The more applications you have running from boot the more files will be scanned. So ensure only essential apps are running on boot.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I have only avast installed and running.
Other security software are Spybot, AdAware, Sygate Personal firewall, secretmaker, Winpatrol.

it is standar. i hope that founds mode "not scanning files in bootup"

Visible bootup staring programas are SoundBlaster Mixer only!

If avast dont correct this bug or feature, maybe i change antivirus that are "Lite".
Avast surrr... surrr .surrr many many minutes in bootup.... and computer is jammed this time!

I bet there is a lot more loading at boottime then just the SB mixer.
Please post a HijackThis Log here and let us have a look.

DavidR,
what was that util again that handle boot sequence?
I can't remember the name atm.
Think that will solve it also for this person

I think it is Startup Delayer http://www.snapfiles.com/get/startdelay.html.
