Cannot sync passwords on Sync & Backup

Cannot sync passwords to backup. Here's what I do

1. I click menu "Sync & Backup",
2. Then I click "Turn On" then a popup window says I'll need a free Avast account, which I have, and I log in.
3. It says to check my email for the 6-digit code.
4. I enter the code from my email
5. I get the message: "Please confirm your new Avast Account password on another synced device." I don't have another synced device.
6. So I click on the "Don't have another synced device?"
7. A popup asks me to enter the last password I had, because mine had recently been changed.
8. I enter the last password I had before I changed. It tells me "You've entered an invalid password, please verify your password and try again.

I'm entering the right "old password," but it's not letting me in to sync. HELP!!

I'm hitting this exact same issue.
I am entering in what i believe to be my previous Avast Account password but it does not accept it.
Help how do i get past this issue.
