« on: December 26, 2018, 12:01:51 AM »
Hi to all
Just like to say that the push for Avast VPN is annoying me. I have an VPN other than Avast
I feel if Avast can't detect that and still push me to install their VPN than really how good is Avast in other detections

Get in the habit of always doing a custom install whenever you install any program.
Here is how that's done when you install Avast.

I think the TC is saying he has a different VPN installed other than Avast. I too get the odd Avast Ad saying my IP is exposed and I should use their VPN even though I use a well Known VPN.

Which you can get rid of when you install Avast using the Custom install option.

Avast can't run ads on you if you don't have the default components/features selected by [default, already ticked off] in the standard install routine.

I did use the custom install, it made no difference.

As the OP is the one help is addressed to, Custom install, would help him/her the most.

Avast does need money for free version costs, and an occasional advert from them is to be expected.

Nothing is free:  https://www.howtogeek.com/218675/beware-free-antivirus-isnt-really-free-anymore

But this is OT and solution for hds41 is provided above.

[EDIT:] Fixed broken link.
