Licence 3 PC or 3 devices?

Quick question before purchase

I have the free version and would like to buy but not clear on this...
If it says Licence for PC x 3, does that mean 3 PC's or can they be a tablet phone and PC?, don't have 3 PC's...
If so, if I purchase Avast Internet Security from a PC, will the other 2 downloaded versions on the phone and tablet just be upgraded by entering a given licence key
It's just not clear..

PC x 3 = 3PC's

Currently there isn't a multi OS platform license e.g. Windows PC, Android Mobile or tablet, you can obviously use the free version of Avast Mobile Security (AMS).

As far as I'm aware Avast are considering something like this. However, since the AMS Pro (paid) version comes via Google Play store, they handle the payment.  I'm not sure how they might get round that.
