I just got a new computer Win 10 with Optane memory
« on: December 28, 2018, 08:19:19 PM »
Hi, just got a brand new Win 10 computer. Has anyone had any issues with Avast Free and Optane Memory being incompatible?
Is there a solution?
Thanks,
Lady

I'm wondering if there is a 3rd. Party AV already installed and if so, was it uninstalled.
Just a thought :)

According to the company I bought the computer from, that is what they said HP told them. I have used Avast free for years, and have NEVER heard of such a thing, which I told the computer company. I think it is something wrong with the computer itself and has nothing to do with Avast. I had loaded all my programs and files from my old computer, shut it down for the night and when I tried to bring it back up this morning it was toast. Some how it lost the boot drive completely after shutdown, even though the boot test says it's there.
This company swears by Norton(I hate Norton) and they were not happy I wanted to go with Avast. So I think Avast is being blamed for something totally unrelated.
But figured I'd ask here, just in case it was "a thing".

Sounds like maybe Norton was never completely removed. ??? Check my signature for Successfully installing Avast.
