Email Scanning
« on: January 06, 2019, 06:11:34 PM »
Although email scanning is enabled, I cannot see an Avast marker on any I have received.

I have 3 email programs - Thunderbird, Outlook.com and Gmail.
Is Avast working on them all and if so, where is the scan marker ?

It is the small Avast checked marker at the bottom of each email that is missing on all my email programs.
It always showed on all my old Win XP emails, but not now on win 10.

As far as I know, online email is checked by the service offering that email.
I use Gmail and it does an excellent job of culling spam.
Avast can be used to scan emails for programs like Outlook, etc.

Yes, all Email providers have spam/virus scan on there mail server (dont know of any that dont) so all mail recived and sendt is already scanned before you recive it or when you send one, it does not matter if you use a mail program or webmail

Hi, see screenshot.

My screenshot says signature is checked, so where are the signatures on my emails ?
My Outlook.com and Thunderbird received emails have no Avast marker at the end of them.
Thunderbird used to have these on my old XP.

Note, that this applies to outgoing mails only. So, you'd need to ask the recipients if they can see your sig.

You can also send an email to yourself. It should show the notice once received. :)

The second checkbox down is INCOMING emails which are much more important. THEY are the ones of potential danger to me.
Why does Avast NOT put a virus checked marker in these emails. Outgoing emails are of little interest to me.
