Hmm, interesting, does this happen even after reboot?

What if you create a different object (not a task) - e.g. a schedule, or mail alert? Does that work?

Yes. Now I can't create a task at all  :'(

Does not work either for scheduling...  :'(
For the alert, I could be created but failed in testing...

1. Tried to repair the installation and boot: nothing  :'(
2. The avast4.ini file seems correct: [Common] section and Database=SQLT

I just don't want to listen... uninstall and install again  :P

The storage file (avast\data\avast4.db) seems to be somehow corrupt.
Can you please send it to my email address?

Vlk has told me the file is ok...
Now what?
I had an old backup (two months ago). I've tried to delete the avast.db file... locked by ashserv.exe. Disable avast and delete it, copy the 'backup' to the same folder.
Boot.
I cannot create a task...  :'( :'(

This is what upset me most... Why doesn't avast has a feature to backup the configurations?
On uninstalling you lose skins, avast4.ini file, etc. etc.
There are tons of applications that backup their settings...

I'm really mad with this. I hate uninstalling and installing again  >:( >:(
More... The repair option does not 'recreate' the default tasks...

I'm thinking this happens because I have avast in two different languages at the same computer (English and Portuguese)... Could it be?

I installed only the Portuguese version, boot, I could add Tasks...
Updated to last 4.7.869, boot.
I can't manage them again  :( >:(

I know something is strange in the accented characters...
Some tasks are displayed as <non specified>  ::)
Could it be related to my problem?
After closing avast and opening it again, the display is correct.

After booting the display is correct but I can't manage the tasks  :( >:(

I'll do whatever to have my Professional version working back again  :'(
I'm thinking, now, it's about avast4.ini file, can I send it for you Vlk for analysis or this is impossible, I mean, it can never be caused by avast4.ini settings?

This is one of the reasons I left, you see how there are no more replies to Tech's problem now? the problem wasn't solved so now nobody is helping him try and figure out what could have caused this and how to resolve this because in the couple of checks they did they found nothing wrong.  >:(

Vlk, I've sent a file to the ftp server called Debug_Technical.zip with all Debug logs in the <avast>\Data\Log folder.
