Avast Business-Virus Chest Location
« on: January 09, 2019, 07:09:32 PM »
I need to remotely access the virus chest of a user via command line; \\computer-name\c$\........

Does anyone know where the chest is located on the hard drive (path)?
Does anyone know what happens to a file that is automatically moved to the chest? file extension?

I have many files that I changed the extension to .bdm that avast alerted on and moved to the chest. Now, I cannot locate these files by their original names when looking from a DOS prompt.

Any help, tips, tricks, etc.... are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I understand the purpose of the admin console.

I still want to know where the virus chest resides on the local hard drive.

Thank you,

c:\programdata\avast software\avast\chest
The index.xml file describes the contents of that folder; 00000001, 00000002, etc...
