Hello,

I would like to know what the Avast icon is in my system tray...that is a red arrow and a blue arrow that together creates a circle, that shows up in my system tray on my laptop upon start, but never ever shows upon my desktop.  It doesn't stay present long, but does show up...only on my laptop.

Wanting to know what this icon represents.  What is it doing when that icon is present?

Thanks,
LTS

The red and green icon is shown in the system tray while avast is updating its antivirus signature file.

I believe by default it is turned off - however it is controlled by:

right click avast icon in system tray > Program Settings > Update (Basic) > Details > Show icon in task bar tray box

If it is a red and green icon, it's ok like Alan said... just avast update one.

Yes it is off by default for when it checks for updates, however, if an update is available I believe it will display whilst it is downloading.
