Get rid of my junk files
« on: January 20, 2019, 05:14:34 AM »
I analyzed my computer after installing Avast on it. It says that i have performance problems and it slows down my pc. It's written i have around 23 GB of junk files but it doesn't tell me what they are or where they are located. I can't bye Avast cleanup premium but i really need to get rid of these files. What can i do?

You can use CCleaner, it's free.
W8.1 [x64] - Avast Free AV 23.3.8047.BC [UI.757] - Firefox ESR 102.9 [NS/uBO/PB] - Thunderbird 102.9.1
Avast-Tools: Secure Browser 109.0 - Cleanup 23.1 - SecureLine 5.18 - DriverUpdater 23.1 - CCleaner 6.01

I guess from your OP that you are using Avast Free version.
I would not get too excited about Avast reporting numerous junk files as part of their campaign to get you to purchase their Cleanup paid for component, especially if you have used CCleaner.
I would de-select the "Cleanup" item from your list of installed Avast components, by going to Menu>Settings>Troubleshooting>Add/Modify Components. Then untick "Cleanup" component from the list.

Unless you intend to pay for that component, I would uninstall it. :)
