Nice to see that Avast is holding on as a good antivirus.
The results are nothing to whooray, but not bad either, no way :)

I'm mostly happy because they are keeping the ADVANCED. They used to be STANDARD in the past.

Congratulations and keep the hard work pushing foward.
Kaspersky is not a surprise... But I always get surprised with Avira and Symantec  :-\

I am especially glad to see Avast improve in the area of trojan detection. That has been a weak spot in my view. The improvement from 80.35% to 88.35% is significant.

Now if the “other malware” and “other OS viruses/malware” categories can make similar improvements Avast will make Advanced + I feel sure.

Yes significant improvement on Trojan detection and an improvement in the bottom line figures also to Total 92.01% and Total including DOS viruses/malware 94.58% - Up from 89.24% and 93.58% respectively.

It is nice to see these improvements, onwards and upwards.

what looks VERY interesting are G-DATA AVK results .... if i'm not mistaken this should be with Avast! engine already right ?

look at that score 99.68% which mean TOP1 and beats Kaspersky with "only" 99.06% as TOP4

also Avira scores 99.51% and results into TOP2 that's suprise ...

F-Secure as TOP3 proves they still good now beating by 0.01% KAV ...

very suprising tests really ... anyway congrats to Alwil for improvements done, but keep harder and faster :)

Not yet - avast! engine will be included in the next version (AVK 2007), this test was still done with Bitdefender engine. As a remark says (in av-comparatives report), the new version will be tested next year.
