Easily identified as proxy

(1/1)

zEEbra:
I got the 7 day free trial for the secureline vpn. I would have got the paid version if it helped me, but it didn't.
I tried registering in a forum but the forum didn't accept my registration. A few of my friends said that forums can
identify whether a it's a proxy vpn or not and because Avast vpn was easily identified as a proxy, I didn't get access to the forum.

So how is SecureLine a paid VPN helpful if forums can identify the VPN is a proxy?

SlackerDuck:
VPN's use a list of ranges of IPs which apear to your IP to the rest of the world, even though you may share that IP with 1000 other people

Some sites keep a list of IPs commonly used by VPNs and set it to block those IPs.

schmidthouse:
I personally have not experienced any restrictions over the years I've use Avast Secureline VPN.
It I encounter a block I simply switch Servers Location. :)

mchain:
What forum were you trying to register?

As with schmidthouse, if blocked, change the server location always fixes things.

boogiesmitty:
Yeah IP bans are pretty common, mostly streaming platforms like Netflix or HBO target well know VPN providers with IP bans. I'm currently using Surfshark which is relatively new VPN and will try the trial period with SecureLine VPN, so in a few days I might have some more information which works better bypassing restrictions.
