Deleting a Thread
« on: February 02, 2019, 07:37:52 PM »
Once a thread has been started, can only a moderator delete it regardless of whether it has been replyed to or not?

I just wondered.

In the future, if I find a solution to my thread before someone has replied, can I just attach a message requesting that a moderator delete the thread?

If there have been no responses - You could also use the Modify button in the post, clear the original text and enter == Please Delete == or words to that effect.  You could also edit the topics Title (using the Modify button in the first post) to the same effect.

I certainly understand the request however often times other users are confronted with similar issues in general and reap the information from other posts about similar issues to assist in resolving their own issue.
Deleting posts and Topics/threads defeats this purpose imo.
I have spent significant time reading through threads over "the years" about problems incountered with Avast and have learnt much.
Just saying. :)

Agreed, it's certainly more helpful to let the community know how it was fixed/solved. 8)

My comment was based on the quoted text, if there are no responses.
If however, the topic is active, e.g. others have responded to it, then it should remain as has been said the information could be helpful to others.

After all this is a support forum.
