I can't even get to repair because, when I click on the Avast icon it says "loading...this shouldn't take long" and just sits there
Do the clean install.

How do you do that?
I have the same problem. Again.

tk

Should I post the zipped folder in this thread, the linked white screen thread or email it to <removed email address>

1.  You can't attach/post the zipped files in the forums only images and text files allowed.  If you happen to change the file type to say .txt it just corrupts the archive.

2.  You should remove the email address displayed publicly in the forums.

You can email it to that address or upload it to a file sharing site and post the url in your next reply.  Emailing is possibly the better option as it doesn't rely on Petr seeing/being notified of the reply and downloading it.

Yes that's correct. As Petr requested,
"May I ask for logs when white UI appears - send them directly to me: petr.blatny@avast.com, pack/zip this folder please: c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\"

UI is opening OK now. Not turning white. Is this an intermittent issue?
Should I wait until the next time it turns white and send logs then or just send them now?

True. Software updater is not seeing latest version of CCleaner that is available to download.

In previous versions of avast premier in the firewall tab you had access to application rules where you had the ability to block/allow etc... individual programs on certain ports and protocols, is this ability no longer available? Or am I just not finding it?

after last patch its strange some days when i click on icon it wont launch/open second time i click it opens as white box, full white box, next day or after restart it works properly, usually there is 1Ui.exe always running and when i launch avast it runs second Ui.exe so issue is second Ui.exe is required for launch and it wont start so result is white box, i kept eye on it in task manager to see what cause it, avast has bug that sometimes on pc boot something goes wrong what prevents second Ui.exe to run on opening/launching avast (one Ui.exe is always running and avast opened there is 2, when it opens as white box its just 1, second one wont work), its seem to be boot issue (on pc boot something gets fked up with avast) cause 1 day its ok and then next day or 3th day its white box hole day, unless i restart pc, and right new it opens as white box

it does look like on startup under AvLuncher icon few processes didn't start, it only shows AvLuncher without the processes that u usually see when u click on it

i wonder is doing restart to avast from service bad idea, like causes problems? or its best to let it be cause on next boot or boot after that it works fine again

when does it get patched???

EDIT:
no idea how to cause there are so meany files and it says in use when i try to attach it to my new post, so can't provide logs

Please read Posts #121 and #130 in this thread. There are many users experiencing this issue. A reboot usually clears the problem temporarily.

As Asyn directed, please send your logs to help Avast resolve this issue.

Hi,just got my laptop back today (windows 10)  They (simplyfixit) installed avast business cloudcare free trial. It was open when they showed me in the shop.I get back home and it will not open .Quickly shows a flicker of a white box then nothing.
Tried troubleshooting,restarting.Nothing.Tried repair but it only shows window with uninstall or cancel option.Any ideas? Any search tells me there is an repair option as well.
