Hello,
I updated my Avast Premier software this morning (it announced a security update) and since then, Secureline VPN cannot make any connection. My license is current. I tried repairing the app, had to install it from the Licenses page first, which I did. Rebooted. Still unable to make the connection. I tried other locations, no luck. Everything else works fine.
What do I do to make VPN work again?

(Makes sure you save you license)
I would uninstall SecureLine via Menu Settings General the follow this:

Once removed, install the free standing version of SecureLine.

Once installed, add your current license.

I uninstalled via Windows settings, so I shall try your way. When I reinstalled, my license was still indicated as active. Does that mean the uninstall was not complete enough?
I will post back with results.

I cannot find a way to uninstall Secureline from the Troubleshooting part of Settings, the list of components to modify does not include it?

If you've already removed it via Programs and features, then you've bypassed the Troubleshooting option.
The troubleshooting option is just another way to do the same thing.

I have now uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, but still get the same connection error.
Also, I noticed the Avast TAP (network) driver that used to be in my device manager Networks category is gone, and when I try to reinstall it, there is an error message. No details, it just says a component is preventing the system from installing the driver.
And I am still unable to use VPN.

Try uninstalling Premier and then VPN.  Reboot.  Install VPN.  Reboot.  Does it work now?

If yes, then install Premier.  Reboot.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit 22H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.1.6099 (build 24.1.88821.762)  UI version 1.0.797

+1
Has worked for me on a number of occasions.
Also recently when I was trying to reinstall Secureline, resetting Firewall with command helped
Command prompt: Netsh firewall reset

Avast support came through for me. They told me to reinstall the standalone version of Secureline, using Administrative privileges, so I did that.
I reinstalled without first removing anything. When I opened Secureline, it connected immediately. I had to login to my account to recognize my license, but that also worked, although the app did have to reconnect apparently. But it worked. So it works again, and this is sure easier than uninstalling Premier first! Especially since I would have to redownload the latest version...
