VPN
« on: February 13, 2019, 09:40:29 PM »
After the latest Avast Application update my ExpressVPN stopped working.  In fact I got the “Stop Error” screen, what is also known as the “Blue Screen of Death.”  I called Avast and after remotely getting on my computer was told it was an ExpressVPN problem.  I’ve been working with ExpressVPN. They just told me that this is entirely an issue on Avast.  It is affecting all VPN’s (PIA, Nord, etc).  Avast communicated that they will be releasing an emergency update about this.  Who knows when though!  VERY frustrating.

The people you spoke to are third party support.
Update your virus definitions, restart the computer and you problem should be corrected.
See this thread for the ongoing discussion on this now solved problem.

Thank you for replying Bob - and referring me to the correct forum thread.  I updated my virus definitions and it worked.  Interestingly my Avast software stated that my definitions were up to date.  "Clicked" on it anyway and it did download the update.  Thanks again.

I got the same "Your definitions are up to date" message. It wasn't till a restart that the correct new version actually appeared.
