Assuming you have either Avast Internet Security or Avast Premier (you don't say) you'd have the Avast Firewall.
That firewall is set to automatically block your computer from being a server for unwanted Internet connections. See this site for a fuller explanation:

You'd not really want others to access all your personal files, pictures, financial data, etc.,. if your system was allowed to be a server, so best to leave things alone.
If connectivity in your home network is an issue (you don't say) set your firewall to Private and reboot.
