Avast! reports that it might be out of date
« on: July 31, 2006, 08:32:05 PM »
Hello guys:

 This morning out of blue I got this message from "Windows Security Center"when I powered up my PC: avast! antivirus 4.7.844 [VPS 0631-0] reports that it might be out of date.  Why??? I got my blue pop up this morning and the voice: Database has been updated. I running Avast! (scanning) it will take probably 3 more hours. I am running Avast! as home user cause I am. I am happy with Avast! and Windows WSC recommendation is to get a new Anti-virus program. Nuts!!! So far I haven't heard the Alert horn in the Avast! scan.

Any help on this matter, please

MAB ::)

Never seen this before.

Is your OS fully up to date with the latest patches/updates from MS?
Is your system time/date still correct?

If so, already rebooted?

If yes, and the problem did not go away:
initiate a repair of avast and see if that solves it.

Check your system date, especially the day, month and year.

Check that your registration is still in date, right click the avast icon, select about avast! and open the Registration details and check the updates expiry date. How long have you been using avast ?
