I cannot get Google Chrome's Developer Tools to run. They are not disabled in the registry nor grayed out in the Chrome "More tools" menu. HOWEVER, if I run Chrome in Avast's sandbox, the developer tools open normally. Thinking that Avast must be the culprit, I then used the Shields Control to disable Avast temporarily. Unfortunately, Chrome's developer tools would still not work. I have also tried adding Chrome to Avast's allowed apps and exceptions. Nothing worked.
Can anyone suggest why the developer tools would work in the Avast sandbox, but not when Avast was disabled entirely?
(Also, the developer tools in the MS Edge browser work fine. This seems to be Chrome specific for me.)
I'm running Avast Internet Security version 19.2.2364 (build 19.1.4142.454) and the most current version of Google Chrome. Win 10 64 bit.
