Hello Avasters!

We’re sorry to say we no longer support Windows and Mac devices in the “devices” section in my.avast.com accounts. Licenses and Anti Theft should still work fine, but we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Let us know if you have any questions,
The Avast Team

It would appear that Andriod Devices, Avast Mobile Security are no longer supported either, unless of course you have the Anti Theft module rooted.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

You mean the detection of those devices. The product still works to protect those devices.

Since this Topic is related to the "Changes to device section" in my.avast.com accounts, that is exactly what it means.

I have modded your quote as it looks like I said that ;)

It was very useful for avast used on several devices and for global supervision (...)
The fact of being able to manage the number of devices for a paid product also. How will we delete and replace a device with an unavailable hard disk drive (crash or theft )?

I've bought a paid subscription for 3 computers. Let's say one of them crashes, how will I be able to revoke a crashed computer's licence/subscription so I can install Avast after a SO reinstall?  ???

I've already made this when my.avast included our Windows and Macs devices. Now I don't know how I would do it anymore.  :(

The Licenses section should still be available for paid products.  How you would go about reassigning a license after the reinstall, presumably connecting to your avast account from the avastUI and assigning it that way.

I as an avast free user I can't say this for certain as I have never had to do it.

Yes , available (summary report)

But no, the information given by MartinZ #22 is not yet applied.
Only the subscription and the number of devices appear but no more details on the devices covered by the license.....even less to remove a device from which the hard disk has scratched.

However ( I asked avast 1 or 2 years ago )  the application of the device number rule was not too strict, it was enough to have no more than the number of devices connected at the same time, so the device whose hard disk drive is dead should not count.

For licensing it still works, you will just login on the device you would like to licence and then pick the desired license (the purchase email and account email must match)

how to license a new device when the subscription is already full and you no longer have access to a device registered to delete its license?

Having been a paying subscriber (Internet Security for 6 pcs and Secureline for 2) for almost 10 years I found the ability to monitor my licenses versus PCs EXTREMELY valuable and one of the things that set AVAST apart from the competition.  It seems like the company is now removing capability and continuing to increase prices.  After 10 years I would hate to change but as I start to feel more and more like I am losing capability and paying more and more money.  Evaluating and potentially finding a another product would just be good consumer sense.

I don't understand how it would take 6 months to develop and launch a capability that already exists.  If you are not able to separate paying from free wouldn't it make better business sense to to roll in the separation in Q3 rather than take away from paying subscribers now?

I am NOT HAPPY with the loss of capability to monitor my licenses, the manner in which the reduction in this capability was done, and the lack of communication with subscribers that we were losing a capability... not to mention this "roadmap" to bring back a capability that was part of my existing subscription (if in fact that is true). All of this will have an immediate impact on my decisions to renew or to find other products rather than continue my long standing subscription.

***Update*** I made an arbitrary decision, much like AVAST deciding to remove device management for the Avast Account of subscribers without notification or compensation, I have cancelled my subscriptions and will be moving to a competitors product that offers significantly better capability, web management of licenses and a lower annual price.

As a secretary to other users I used this information to tell people to update their versions, as some sat on older versions.  I am now travelling blind.  I thought this was a good feature.

Having just read through through the comments is seems I am joining /have joined a very disappointed crowd..

I have had Avast Free Antivirus on my systems since 2007 , I have trusted Avast and been grateful for the product until lately. I was disappointed way back when Avast made the decision to do some deal with google..(which now should tell me all I need to know ) the automatic tic to chrome is annoying when updating.

Now having bought another computer I wanted to add it to my other one, as it seems I am a loyal customer and have been spending a bit of time understanding the VPN (takeover) of my firefox browser. I appreciate the need for VPN and have been looking into it. but advising subscribers would be appreciated..
I also understand that these changes have probably got a lot to do with the EU recent internet changes... again communication would be appreciated...

There is no VPN takeover of your Firefox or other browser unless you purchase and use that tool.
You can learn more about the Avast SecureLine at, https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/SecureLine-VPN-FAQ
If you're interested in the product, you can purchase it here, https://www.avast.com/en-us/secureline-vpn#pc
Avast software also offers another VPN called HMA (Hide My Ass), https://www.hidemyass.com/en-us/index
I personally use HMA.

for paid subscriptions we plan to have a simple overview for you to see on which devices the subscription is being used

Any information Martin on a time line> when this might occur/   :)

Bump

Hi, it's unfortunately matter of months, not weeks. We aim at Q3

OK - your company has gone down the toilet. I rely on knowing what PCs my licenses are active on. I have multiple 3-PC AIS subscriptions. I used to be able to see active computers and deactivate them. I could tell at a glance if there was an issue with a specific PC. Now I have no clue. This is absurd on your part. To remove the functionality and then say you have a replacement in the works but not until months later is unacceptable. And you say it with a laughable ha-ha attitude like we are your friends. I'm not. I'm a paying customer.

I've used Avast products for years. You make tracking subscriptions, modifying payment methods etc very difficult. You double charge. You just charged my expired card. Your prices increase significantly. Your product interferes with the performance of my computers.

I will not renew any product ever again. I used to sing Avast's praises. Now I tell people to stay clear. I tell them whenever I get the chance.

The whole thing smacks of deliberately locking customers into subscriptions that prove next to impossible to manage or cancel.

Shame on Avast.

You clearly have no idea how your customers use your products.
