Full Scan Times have Doubled
« on: March 15, 2019, 03:46:52 PM »
Using avast 19.3.2369 (build 19.3.4241.404) on Win 10 v1803 with all updates.  For some time now my full scan times of my system disk have doubled from 2 hours to 4 hours.  I have tried modifying the scan options to use the faster options to no avail.  The number of files (AFAIK) has not grown during this time.  The system disk is using about 210GB with over 700GB free space.

Suggestions?  Thoughts?

Scanning every sector of the main operating system hard drive on a routine basis is really not required.

Scanning areas likely to have malware residing in them is a better use of time and resources:  Quick Scan is a good choice.

See attached pictures below to use for a scan and options available at the far right side.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit 22H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.1.6099 (build 24.1.88821.762)  UI version 1.0.797
 UI version 1.0.788.  Windows 11 Home 23H2 - Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Avast Premier Security version 24.2.6105 (build 24.1.8918.827) UI version 1.0.801

I just reviewed my scan times.  I don't know what I was looking at when I created the original post but my scan times have NOT doubled.  They've actually gotten a bit better. Sorry for the misleading post.   :-[
