License expired
« on: March 24, 2019, 08:47:04 PM »
Hi
My license for avast pro antivirus expired some days ago. Now I get messages about that i´m unprotected and at risk and avast want me to renew my license. But I think that the free version is enough for me. If I understand it right i´m still protected with the same level as for the free version even after the license for the paid version expired. If I open the UI the sheilds for basic protection , file protection behavior shield,
webprotection and e-mail is all green and shows on. What seems to been changed is that sandbox is locked and also secure server. So my question is am I still protected ! Even when they want me to renew my license ?

You can't just keep using Avast Pro, you need to uninstall Avast Pro during that process you used to be offered the option of installing Avast Free.

Currently it would appear that all of the Pro functions are disabled, but if you stick with this as is, you will keep getting nagged to renew your license.

Hi
If the basic shields are on and working why do I have to uninstall it. And then install avast free. I don´t realy care if I been asked to renew my license as long as my basic protection is still on. It´s just the two functions I mentioned that has been locked the rest is still marked with green. And windows shows that they are active. Is it something I am missing ? I still get the virus definitions updates.

Because you have Avast Pro installed.  Who knows down the line if Avast Pro will be completely disabled.

As I have said you are offered the option of avast free, that will convert your installation to avast free.
