Problem with Avast Security Mac display language
« on: April 05, 2019, 03:33:44 PM »
How do I change the display language?

Last month I went to Japan and brought my Mac notebook with me. After a few days, the update notification for the daily virus definition changed to Japanese. At first, I thought it was because my location at the time changed to Japan, and so, I ignored it. However, when I came back from Japan, the notification still is in Japanese. I open the program and the whole program interface changed to Japanese.

I thought if I wait for a few days, the program would change the display back to English, like it changed to Japanese. A week has passed and the program still is in Japanese.

I tried to uninstall and re-install the program but it didn't change the language back to English, still in Japanese.

PS: This only happen on Avast Security Mac. No other program or the system language have ever changed.

I did not see your post in the Mac section so will provide a clue here.

I assume Avast chooses the region based on the settings in MacOS. See link below on how to change the region preferences in MacOS.
