It messed up a driver but it's fixed now
If so, please provide details how it got fixed. Others might be interested...
One of my neighbors who fixes computers
How would Avast mess up a driver that has something to do with the computers sound ???
More likely that because you're running a pre-release version of Windows that it has a flaw.

More likely that because you're running a pre-release version of Windows that it has a flaw.

You would have to ask the man who fixed it.
It doesn't have a "flaw."

Re: NEW Version: 19.4.2374 (April 2019) Mail SSL and GUI dissaster
« Reply #98 on: April 24, 2019, 08:53:35 PM »
Avast GUI and especially settings interface is complete dissaster. As a SW tester I would be ashamed to alow something like this into production. Just as one example. Wanted to dissable SSL mail scaning  because this version almost blocking my mails in Thunderbird  and i needed to search www to find where the fuck this SSL setting is hidden NOW.
Better not to mention other avast solutions proposed to solve Thunderbird mail slownes I have found here which are comlete bullshit and unusable even for expert users. Anyway most of this solutions as i can see do not work.
I was programer fpor 25 years and now i am professional tester... just can not understand why SW GUI can be destroyed so much in such a short time.... BTW this is becoming looks like modern .... in windows 10 and also in Linux.

Hi,

I would like you speak for yourself please Peter, because i'm an expert user, i repair PCs and i'm studying cybersecurity for years and Avast its a very good program mate. Do not belittle the Avast personal , they worked very well and you will be more usefull if you helped instead of just criticize.

Kind Regards,

:'(GOOD DAY! Hi, I recently bought a New DELL Laptop as my old HP that was 5 yrs old started to slow down a lot and evetually the screen died. On buying the new DELL it came with a FULL version of McAfee and I used it while loading all my programs and NEVER had any Glitches. After a week of using the DELL and surfing etc I then loaded my Avast Full version with the licence renewed  and BAM!!! Everything SLOWED DOWN as if it were my old HP. I surfed the internet and found a LOT of complaints about Avast causing all kinds of SLOW DOWNS and people cursing it. I feel Peeved at Avast as the Computer shop salesman recommended I get Kapersky which he says never does that and he finds it a superior antivirus. I want a refund (My renewall was on the 23 April which I've just paid for) and UNINSTALL AVAST. Why am I having all these Glitches??

Here are instructions for properly installing Avast and totally removing the AV you had on that computer.

In addition to Bob's direction if you loaded Avast while having McAfee installed or not thoroughly uninstalled with Vendors Removal tool, you will get serious conflicts and slow down.
You can't run 2 Anti Viruses on the same machine together without problems!

Any reason Avast hasn't alerted me that an update is available nor does my GUI?
