Any reason Avast hasn't alerted me that an update is available nor does my GUI?
It depends on your update settings...

I have it set at "Ask when an update is available."

With hundreds of millions of Avast users, they all can't get the update at once, so there is an update cycle were systems are updated.

I can only presume that those with program updates set to the default setting 'Automatic' would be at the head of the queue.  Then those set to Ask and finally those like myself who have it set to Manual would only get it when they do an update check.

You're welcome.

With Program updated coming out almost monthly and this update cycle, you could check (the forums or manually in the program) around the middle of the month if you haven't received notification.

Thanks for the heads up. I just looked at Task Manager to check myself and was pleased to see that unsecapp.exe is no longer listed there. :)

Hello there,
I've been using the Avast antivirus program for 6 years. AvastUI.exe has been using the processor as 13% in the task manager. I want this fixed. I am using Windows 7 - 64 bit.

For your information,

Bemerkung:

Remark:

Running Windows 7 Performance Index check with latest Avast version installed stops with an error on my system. ! Yet I noticed no other problems on my system
I deinstalled Avast and error is gone. !
Just try it.

I would not have installed this version, but the damn software did the damn update automatically.
THIS VERSION SUCKS!
Every new version of Avast is bugged, it's always beta and never tested.
So it's not a big surprise that the AVAST UI is now eating half of the CPU, almost 50%, ALL THE TIME. It's impossible to play a game or do something usefull, as my computer is slowed down by this bugged software.

Why? Are Avast trying to trick me into buying a new computer or something.

I have reported the bug/error, but I don't expect that this bug would be corrected any time soon.

Go to Settings>Update> and select Manual Update of program version.

Do Repair Avast:
1. Avast GUI -> Settings -> Troubleshooting
2. Click on 'REPAIR APP'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

If not fix the issue.
