PayPal pdf
« on: April 18, 2019, 02:33:17 AM »
So, I committed a cardinal sin, and clicked on 2 pdf files that appeared to have come from PayPal. I know, I should have known better. It was only after the fact that I noticed the bogus email addresses. I disconnected the PC from my network, and, using a different PC, uploaded the files to VirusTotal. They both came back with one hit, from SentinalOne (DFI - Malicious PDF).

Avast Free didn't find anything, niether did another (TM) virus scan utility or Malwarebytes. So I have no idea what might be waiting for me on the other PC. So, how screwed am I?

Malwarebytes does not target script / doc / media files, so will not detect any malicious pdf.doc

anyway, only one detection indicate false positive ..... unless it is very new
