Cant Uninstall Avast
« on: April 19, 2019, 06:25:44 AM »
For some reason i just cant seem to get Avast off of my computer, I have been trying everything possible for hours already and nothing has been working. Not only that but when i try to open or delete anything in my avast folder It says i don't have proper permissions even when i try to do it in administrator mode. I have already tried what seems like everything from avastclear, safe mode, and other anti viruses.

Sorry for wording it strangely but what i meant by that is that i tried using this to delete it because nothing else worked https://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php.

If there is a restore feature in whatever product you've used, I'd use that to restore Avast back to where it should be (via iobit?).  Edit:]

Some iobit programs use Bitdefender, likely a conflict between antiviruses:  https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=211973.0

Use avastclear.exe to remove:  https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility   (Follow directions, use administrator account)

Remove any old a/v's even if already uninstalled:  https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/11/#artTitle

Don't use a third-party uninstaller to uninstall an antivirus, use the vendor's uninstall utility.

Iobit has been caught before:  https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/29681-iobit-steals-malwarebytes-intellectual-property/

Use a Live Linux CD to remove Avast.

@    Avast Sucks
Tone down the language, e.g. edit it out, this is a public forum with no age limit on users.

If you are seeking help, people (other avast users) are prepared to help, if you have come to vent, I doubt it would be acceptable.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

There's always a 'Reset' of your Operating System.
Mchain has offered very good info and solutions.
