Junk Files Nag
« on: April 24, 2019, 09:38:09 PM »
60.3.0esr.   The persistent junk file NAG in Avast claims 531Mb of junk files.  Would it be too much if I dump the file structure and send it so Avast can Show Me ?  Please do not respond it all could be in the C:\Users\*.*  file structure -- it's not...  In fact, there is not 531Mb of junk files anywhere, on this one and only partition.  I think we are looking at the reason I never gave Avast a dime to co-own my machine...

Had to get my neighbor to decode the Captcha-style verification on two occasions, so I won't be able to respond...The audio won't work for me -- bad hearing impairment...

There are plenty of free software options to clear junk files.

This is no doubt a promotion of an Avast Paid product, so it is unlikely that it would provide detailed information on locations and files, etc.

The captcha is an anti-spam measure and it is only for the first three posts.  To combat spambots, etc. it has to be tough.

Interesting... this is the same tactic used by the scareware vendors I'm paying Avast to keep OFF my PC.

The problem being running the Smart Scan includes other scans of paid modules.

Hard to say as it doesn't give detailed information, nor is there a clear definition of junk.  One mans junk another mans treasure.
