Just like the title says, the behaviour shield keeps turning itself off after I reboot my computer, or sometimes even from a "cold" boot.

I have tried a repair installation but this hasn't made any difference.

I'm running Winows 10 1809 with Avast Free 2019 (ver. 19.4.2374 build 19.4.4318.439). I also have Malwarebytes Free which doesn't have real time protection so it shouldn't interfere with Avast. I do not intend to remove MBAM anyway since its scan sometimes finds things that are missed by Avast.

I'm aware that this issue has existed for many users since behaviour shield was first introduced and I'm appalled that this still hasn't been resolved.

Hi Asyn,

I've been waiting all day and I only have the free version. I'm not going to pay for something that doesn't work.

I have exactly the same issue. Windows 10 1809 with Avast Free 2019 (ver. 19.4.2374 build 19.4.4318.460)  the behaviour shield keeps turning itself off after I reboot my computer or sometimes even from a "cold" boot. I can't remember which Avast version introduced the problem I've been having it for some time.

Same issue, Windows 10 pro 64-bit. Only in the latest version, but all the time after reboot.

SOLVED: Avast 2019 Behaviour Shield keeps turning itself off
« Reply #8 on: May 07, 2019, 09:06:32 PM »
I seem to have fixed the issue by upgrading my ancient HDD to a new SSD.

The issue seems to have been caused by excessively slow HDD read/write times when starting the behaviour shield causing Avast to assume it is not responding and therefore disabling the shield.

Thanks everyone for your help and apologies for my impatience.
