Seems that you can...
But, why worry and hurry?
Files are save in the Chest, let them there, wait two weeks, for instance, rescan them into the Chest (to check if they were not false positives) and the delete them  ;)

I was going to ask the sam thing.

I did a scan and it picked up:

c:/windows/system32/pav.sig

malware win32: NGVCK-E

malware type virus/worm

VPS version 0632-0, 0810812006

recommend move to chest

OK, moved to chest.  So now that it's in the chest it is of no threat?

Most probably...
To be sure it is not a recurring infection:

1) Disable System Restore on Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;%5BLN%5D;310405
2) Clean your temporary files.
3) Schedule a boot time scanning with avast. Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning. Select for scanning archives. Boot.
4) Use a-squared, ewido or Spyware Terminator (trojan removers).

I don't have a schedule boot time scanning.  I am not using the Pro.  Is it a Pro feature?

I will try a regular scan.

It isn't a home/pro issue, if the option is greyed out then your OS doesn't support this feature, it is for use with winNT, win2k and winXP.

What is your OS ?
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

No, you have to choose 'Start avast antivirus'.
Then you right click the 'skin' and not the 'icon'.
See, 'Schedule...'
