Just spent 6 + hours getting rid of a piece of malware. It was hiding on my C drive as: C : \ dism.log Text Document 32 KB
My first efforts, run Malware bytes and Avast Anti Virus. Both Malware bytes and Avast told me my computer was free of viruses and malware. Not so.
Finally it dawned on me to check my C Drive. I found the malware, deleted it to my recycle bin and then emptied my recycle bin. Then I ran CCLeaner and AVAST cleaner thinking one of my browsers, either Firefox or Internet Explorer must be hiding a malicious cookie. Unfortunately, CCLeaner does not clean out the browsing history from my AVAST 'Security Browser' (sic). I had to clean out my AVAST Browser by hand to bring this most aggressive infection to an end.
I'm not complaining ladies and gentlemen. I'm reporting in)
