Why is your smart scan still showing the old interface?

Since I had started that moment the interface was old.I see it has changed now that I hung up and turned the computer back on.The circle no longer show. It's all OK  :)

This morning I see the new UI as well. Can't be a coincidence that we complain and they switch on for the user. ;)

Correct. There is always going to be a time after a stable release and before the next beta release
where everyone is running the same version. The UI however is always marked as Beta if that's what your're running.

I've stopped running the beta builds now for few reasons:
1.  Can't go any further than 18.5 on my XP system no further XP/Vista support.  So no more betas to test.
2.  I have found that beta builds aren't great, many times issues are found that had been resolved in earlier program/beta builds.
3.  I don't like the idea of using my win10 laptop as a test-bed.

Previously Avast beta builds were pretty much bulletproof, now I see more bullet holes.

I don't know if this rolling monthly beta/program updates is a good idea, a period of stability would be nice.  Perhaps quarterly updates, which would give longer for QA/Alpha and finally Beta testing before release.  [Bolding mine]
+1 David.  Keep the a/v engine current and on top of things, but don't change things just for the sake of changing the user experience.  I'm also reluctant to use my systems as a test-bed given how leaky recent builds have turned out.

I had done a clean installation later that I received the new look from the smart scan. I have no problem any more. : )

After updating to 19.5 through the UI I had to reboot twice. The smart scan was not working correctly (it did not increment the percentage and stopped after a while). I tried to stop the scan but that did not work. I closed the UI and started the UI again from the systray and it stated that the scan was completed. I then ran smart scan again and the same happened.
I then did a repair from control panel and all seems to be okay now. Will try a smart scan again later to ensure all is well.
All has settled down and smart scan is running as expected.
However, when I look in notifications (as attached) and press details the smart scan starts again...

Ah Yes, it does that. Has been doing so for a long time. That non-intuitive strange behavior was reported as an issue before but never fixed.

I started this thread because the official post had not been made.
Maybe those posting in here, need to start posting in the official Avast post ??? https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=227342.0
