New AV version 19.5.4444 (19.5.2378) has just been released.
 
What's NEW:


• Optimized statuses - Your shield statuses are now synchronized across the app
• Fewer nags - Do Not Disturb Mode no longer detects every Opera update as a new app
• License fixes - We’ve fixed an issue with the duration of our free antivirus licenses
• Better integration - Your antivirus works even better with other, standalone Avast apps

1. Update from your existing Avast version via Settings -> Update -> Update program

Hello,

Im from Portugal. I have updated yesterday to 19.5 version and restarted several times. I saw some users have the new smart scan gui but i´m still on the old one. Is this normal because of my region or some minor error? i tried a clean install and still the same. Can you tell me pls.

Should come along in time.
On my OS's Stable version(19.5) is still showing a Circle and the latest beta installation (no circle) has the files showing as it scans (Smart Scan)

In this version aswEngSrv.exe not running on my pc and i thought it is part of some shield....

Hi,

Same smart scan gui issue. Now it´s a mixure of old scan with the new i think.

What can i try, i tried to repair nothing it doesn´t repair, it takes too long. I aproved avast technology, i´m in IT field and i like new and modern GUI but this Avast GUI is really putting me a little sad, so many errors so many times. Guys please try to be on a more stable way as i know that you can.

Behavior Shield is consistently OFF on Reboots after MS update yesterday.
The issue is not apparent with my beta installation. (Both being the same version)

Edit: Repair did not resolve. Clean install later.
Added: After 'several' reboots the Behavior Shield is staying Enabled at this point, only with the Ransom Shield off now. ( with no warning from Avast if the Ransomware Shield is off.)
Continually have to Check UI for issues with Avast....Not good.

New smart scan? It seems wifi scan was removed and new advanced thread tab was added which is only AD for Avast paid product (if you use free version).
If i use free version, i know i have Windows firewall, i know i have no VPN, i know i have no protection for my Document folder etc., i know my IP is visible, i know my IPS and websites can see what i am doing, i know i have unprotected DNS.......

This ad is focused on inexperienced people and is completely brainwashing.

Please add options to disable scan for advanced thread in smart scan.

I am very disappointed.

This new SMART scan doesn't add anything other then trying to sell you another of their product and even in paid Pro version you cannot turn this off, its beyond  bad business practice
