This new SMART scan doesn't add anything other then trying to sell you another of their product and even in paid Pro version you cannot turn this off, its beyond  bad business practice

Hi Vapor,

This is a new interface for smart scan, doesn´t add any new function otherwise avast would inform us as always they had. Relative to the Ad´s sorry but i have for years i use Avast paid versions and that is not true, i can yes disable Ad without any problem. Just need to go to definions > general > privacy and choose to unselect the two options that are relating to showing product offers and done.

Hi there,

You're obviously not aware of avast's tactics to lure you into buying their other products.
The supposedly "New" Smart Scan does not add anything whatsoever other than to take you click by click to their new products so you upgrade.

As I mention already I have used paid product  for close to 20 years and not for 1 but multiple PC's  and I would expect to have these types of "click by click" trap  gone from paid product, but as you can see it's not.

You really need to educate yourself and I don't mean in rude way and if you have been using their product  for as long as  you claiming, you would know that this is nothing but solely to push you into direction they want you to go where you have to look and hopefully buy their upgrade options.

Fortunately, we have options and choices and I'm sure to avast it doesn't matter if I leave or stay, I am just a small guy who wont hurt their packet by taking my business elsewhere, but  everyone have their limits and mine limit ended yesterday.

Thanks to all members for helping me with issues I have ever encountered.

Good Luck

Bob! Sir! thanks for the videos.
You running the free version and that's fine I can see where you won't get enjoyed when by the end of the scan you skip the last part, which is taking you to upgrade.

As I said before when you on paid version you can take advice once or even twice but when you doing your first scan and apparently gets resolved so it said and you get green circle then you skip the redirection to purchase additional software  and if you do your scan again you still facing issue that "supposedly "was fixed in the first place and I'm not talking about the final purchase page.

In fact there was nothing resolved when it said it was.  So, even if you on paid version and get to the point of seen issues that you can resolve..click-by click takes you to purchase site and once again, just to convince you that you have no brain on you own.

So why won't they stop after supposedly my issue was resolved..because this is only to persuade you to get  to their crap site, sorry for the language.

And again, if I'm using their free version! be my guess and I wouldn't mind these types of tactics but as a paying user, we don't need to be told and keep on taking us to software that we already know exists, if I want to get it I know where to find it, but no, they injecting these intrusive selling madness even on paying members.

Anyways, they were fair enough and issued me a full refund and tbh. I was on the fence of dropping avast for a while because of these things they were trying to impose before but I always give them benefit of the doubt and though maybe they will realize that when they already have paying members why flood them with this nonsense but no...well It was OK for most time but it's time to move ON.

I personally don't get annoyed at an actual sales pitch.
No one works for nothing.
What I get annoyed at are sales pitched that make no sense.
As long as Avast still offers excellent protection at an excellent price (free) I'll continue to use it.
We each have free choice. That's mine. :)

Após atualização não consigo acessar o site www.pje.jus.br, que é uma ferramenta de trabalho.

O que fazer?

And I agree when comes to "free" program but not paid proprietary software. There are always more intelligent, smarter ways to peak someone's interest into products you want to sell, but doing this in such deceitful way by first bypassing their settings and installing program update without users awareness then trying to steer them to sale pitch...that's definitely not smart nor ethical ways.

My settings are to be made aware when there's a new version available. That's exactly what happened.
The only reason for my video was because I was testing something and needed to do a clean install to accomplish my test.

My computer has been extremely SLOW booting up -- I think it has to do with the Antivirus, as my Windows 8.1 Action Center warns me that there is no antivirus protection on and asks me to choose it. Every. Time. Once I check the boxes, it gradually gets to where the systems run normally and I have no other issues. Is Avast not starting on its own when my computer turns on?

Hi,

Since this program update I have had a minor yet irritating problem with the full virus scan.

I run a full virus scan on a regular weekly basis (unless events require I need an additional scan to check the system).  Since the 19.5 program update I have experience a problem as follows:
I load the program gui; go to 'Protection' > 'Virus Scans' > 'Full Virus Scan - Scan Now' and the scan appears to start but almost immediately stops with the message 'Great. no issues found'.  Clearly the scan has not been run - if I repeat the process, the same thing happens.  In order to run the full virus scan, I click 'Done', repeat the process once more and the full virus scan starts normally.  There is no problem with 'Smartscan'.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit - is this a known bug (I have reported it a week ago) or is this a problem with my installation?

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.
