Me again – I should first explain that I’m new to Forums and some of the jargon went right by me but I had already tried Asyn’s repair suggestion unsuccessfully. It didn’t occur to me to attempt conrad1961’s method but that too seems to have failed him – it seems to me that this an issue for avast! but I’m on their free version – I tried sending a Message to Support but so far have had no response.
I had the same problem, Full scan wouldn't work. Tried repairing, reinstalling, troubleshooting, etc. Nothing worked. I was amazed to find that pressing the green Done button after the first failure did work. Thanks for posting that workaround.Surely this is a problem that Avast has to find a solution for.
This error has re-occurred today for me - there was a win10 update very recently. Have used the work around for the time being but not happy after it was seemingly fixed.
