Avast anti virus has serious problem with virtual machines

I'm not sure this problem only belongs to me.
I had a serious problem with virtual machine using VMware and Oracle VirtualBox.
The problem is when I turn on virtual machine then the host os gets blue screen(code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION).
I tried everything I can do and everything that I tried didn't work. Finally I deleted avast anti virus and turn on virtual machine it worked.
I not sure that avast did update today or yesterday but I'm sure that avast was a problem.
Do anybody has problem like me?

Whilst I don't use a VM Avast does have a Hardware Assisted Virtualisation option, or if it could conflict.  You could try disabling that option and see if it makes a difference.

I use Windows Virtual PC in order to run WinXP under Win7, and also have Avast's hardware assisted virtualisation enabled without problems.  But I've read that other VMs do sometimes have trouble with this setting.

Thanks for that confirmation, not sure if the OP is using Win7 or not, but it is certainly worth testing having disabled the Avast Hardware Assisted Virtualisation option.

Does a clean install of XP (before installing any other software) cause the host machine to BSOD? I'm running XP SP3 in a VBox guest on a Win 7 host with AIS and hardware virtualization enabled (on Win 7). I only get a host BSOD if I install certain security software (like Avast or Superantispyware) on the guest.

I have the same findings on a Win 8.1 machine.
